My take on The Taker's [Noctum Review]

Every so often, my grandmother calls me to go see a movie that interests her. Being the great grandson that I am, I go with. Little-did-I-know I was tricked into seeing a movie starring T.I… And I was not happy about this. This past Friday, August 27th, I went to see The Takers.
I have nothing against T.I. personally, but I saw the trailer and it really didn’t spark my interest. I like movies that cause discussion, that change your world almost. I don’t prefer rappers in films either. They try to keep this “gangsta” façade and in the end, lose the character.
My grandmother and I had different reasons to enjoy the movie. For example; She enjoyed Idris Elba and Michael Ealy (absolutely no one left the movie theater without finding this out). I, on the other hand, enjoyed the stylized heists and the cool suits. The element of high-class thievery then how they would retreat for drinks afterwards almost made me consider living a life of crimes (kidding).
There were elements I did not like. The depth in the characters was lacking. The script was filled with character clichés. One of my favorite actors (sarcasm), Paul Walker, did what he does best: he found a target and glared with purpose. Chris Brown and Micheal Ealy played a pair of smart-dumb brothers. And so on. I was also not a fan of the wobbling camera. I came to the movie to see the action, not just hear it.
My Rating:

This is only one man’s opinion. You are welcome to comment and give yours. But before you comment do two things: Think of a valid argument, then ask yourself, ‘Will I remember this in two years?’
